How it works: Uva ursi is toxic in high doses and should not be used in pregnancy or by anyone who has a kidney infection. The recommended amount is 400 to 840 mg arbutin or 10g of leaf daily. It is also recommended to take potassium supplement as uva ursi has diuretic effect which may cause depletion of potassium.
Precautions: It is possibly unsafe to take bearberry in large amounts or long term.
